At Kaiser Ridge – eco stay we take bushfire safety very seriously. Our Bushfire Emergency Plan can be viewed on our website, and there is a printed copy in your tiny house. On extreme fire rating days, all guests and management will vacate the property until a lower rating is advised by the CFS. Outdoor fire pits can only be used during the non bushfire season.
At Kaiser Ridge we aim to be fully self sufficient. So we collect as much rainfall as we can and store it in our tanks for guest use. However, at certain times of the year when rainfall is low, we may have to transport SA mains water to Kaiser Ridge and fill our tanks that way. All water to the tiny houses is filtered and absolutely safe to drink. Rainwater tastes amazing!
At Kaiser Ridge we aim to be fully self sufficient. In terms of electricity supply, we are totally off the grid, and not connected to mains power. We generate and store our own power through solar panels and batteries. When the sun is shining, there is plenty of energy generated for the tiny houses. If energy consumption exceeds the amount of energy generated, then we have a back up generator, until the sun shines again! We do not have any gas stored or used on our property. We aim to use mostly renewable energy, and reduce our fire risk during the bushfire season.
