About Us

Kaiser Ridge – eco stay is a stunning property located in the Barossa Ranges which our family have nurtured and enjoyed for over 50 years. It is a place of natural beauty and wonder which gives one a sense of peace, calm, reconnection and rejuvenation. It is a truly magical place; one we have always dreamed of sharing with the world.

Lincoln’s parents Warren and Sue were always farmers. They loved the land and the highs and lows that came with it. Sheep and cropping were Warren’s passion and together he and Sue bought land in various parts of South Australia , but the Barossa was always their home.

In the early 1970’s they bought 80 acres of hills country from a cousin of Warren’s. This land became know as “Lance’s Block” which extended the area of grazing land already owned by Warren and his Dad in the Barossa Ranges. Lincoln has many fond memories of growing up on the land and helping his Dad. He especially enjoyed mustering sheep on motorbikes through the very steep and unforgiving hills terrain.

The hills land was productive for sheep grazing, but it was also a place the Grocke family relaxed and enjoyed. Many a motorbike weekend, bonfire or camping trip were had, as well as quiet bush walks and picnics. It very soon became a special place in the Grocke family’s heart.

The 2000’s brought the next generation of Grocke’s to Lances Block. While Warren continued to graze his sheep, Lincoln would sometimes cut firewood to sell during the quieter times in his vineyard contracting schedule. We also had our first child Ethan, who I would often pop in a baby carrier, traverse the hillside and take Linc a picnic lunch while he was wood cutting. We had many conversations together discussing potential house sites, or one day developing an eco retreat. It was the perfect place to daydream.

The following years brought two daughters, Jacinte and Claudia to complete our family. We also focussed on developing our vineyard contracting business to its full potential. But the love of Lance’s Block never faded. We spent many weekends on the property as a family; camping, collecting firewood, riding motorbikes and simply loving the beauty of the place and the energy it gave us. Our children have many fond memories of sharing the hills country with their cousins and friends. From climbing up the highest rocks with Uncle Mark’s ropes and harness, discovering the magic fairy tree, splashing in gum boots through the creeks, Grandad teaching them to drive a manual car, toasting marshmallows on the open fire, and so much more. These memories are so precious to all of us and are a big part of what makes us a family. Such a special place.

We are so incredibly proud and excited to share our special piece of the world with others, so they can create their own magical memories too with the ones they love!
